Bloody Hell.. What a day..

Today has been a terrible day, nothing life threatening or anything but none the less a very stressful time.
I had arranged for NTL to call and move a digi box, and at the same time for Sky to install Sky Plus. NTL went without a hitch, but the Sky bloke decided the best way to route the cable to the second box was to use the NTL cable, there by disconnecting my PC and phone and TV.
I was not impressed, infact I now have a raging headache and want to do someone some damage!
I have had to spend an age on the phone to Sky who are absolutely useless and offered me an early appointment of the 15th of Septemeber to rectify the problem. I think not.
So the short version is I have had to be 'talked through' the complete reset of my win sock settings (I have no idea what they are) and I now am back on line. Beyond that what am I to do, I feel stressed and fed up. Why is it always us??

Last Communion layout

This layout is a scraplift from CK (this months) I have finally finsihed scrapping Beths first holy communion, which has not been a chore, but there have been loads of photos and I wanted to include them all. I am pleased with this layout even though it has peel offs on it, (I know I have lost it using peel offs) But it is very subtle and now its been scanned you can barely see them anyway!

Up bright and early.

Well today I am tired but I don't feel so fed up, so perhaps it was the combination of being tired and the drink. I don't have a hang over though.

Yesterday I decided to order a router so that I can go wireless. I now have a laptop essentially for work, but I can use it at home. Up until now I have been a bit naughty and have been using an insecure network that was near by. (I could get it in the front room but not the back room) Saturday morning I went to use it again when I could not find it. The wizard thing could find the usual 5 secured networks but not the one insecure one. The only thing that has changed is that one of the neighbours moved on Friday, so I guess it was their network. Bloody inconsiderate I'd say.

Anyway we are on NTL and I ended up taking advice from them and buying through them, they were quite competitive and I only need the router as the laptop is already enabled.

Watch this space for its arrival and subsequent problems getting it to work.

SCRAPPING
Well after going through a bit of a lean time I think I am back on track. Over the weekend I have done loads and although its not magazine quality, I am happy and that's what counts!!

Why is it ????

Well today has been quite a reasonable day, I have managed to do some more scrapping which has pleased me. Beth has been around to Hannahs to play and then Hannah has come back for a sleep over. My best holiday friends have been over for a drink and a few nibbles, bringing Ryanne and we have had a very pleasant evening,

SO

Why is it I feel so pissed off?? Perhaps its the drink, although I have not had a lot, perhaps its being told that I am a horrible mother by my daughter because I can't take her out to the pictures all the time like some of her friends mums. Perhaps its the constant arguing between the kids that is getting me down.

I have a lot to be thankful for, and I enjoyed going to Church this morning after missing a few weeks, it was great that Beth came and she took up the offertory. So why do I feel so pissed off and feel life is passing me by??

Here are a few more photographs from my holiday, This is trip that we did to D'Apremont Chateau in Vendee. It was a very informative visit, with an English option thank goodness.
Its a very pretty chateau dating from 1534. It was built by Philippe Chabot de Brion. This guy was very rich and powerful. He was also an experienced sailor, so he decided to build this Chateau and divert the river Vie to run along the base of his chateau. This was not wholly successful. Looking around the grounds was good, we looked into the underground cool room, which had been carved out of the rock, and was actually quite cold even though the day was boiling hot!

The Villa!

This is it, well the outside at least. It does look very nice inside according to the photographs as well!!

This holiday is going to be great fun, Wendy (my ex next door neighbor ) has never been before, so she is very excited as are her kids, Hannah and Lee.

We are going to have fun deciding exactly what we are going to do. Yesterday I finally got to speak to my friend Madeline ,they have just got back from there and found it very hot in July. We did say that we would never go in July/August ever again as it is so exhausting. She stayed in a villa and said it was very relaxing and great to have your own pool to use after a long hard slog in the parks!

I'm so excited and its over a year away!!

Good Productive Weekend

After a weekend of self doubt, I have decided that I still love scrapping and that I should get on with scrapping for me and not worry too much about whether they are cutting edge , ultra trendy or stuffed full of embellishments.
After all I scrap to display my photos.
I think that I need to keep my eye on the fact that I want to improve my photos and that they should be the focal point, a good photo doesn't need lots of dressing up.
So yesterday I managed to do 5 double layouts. I am pleased as that has got me over a glitch.
The photos that I want to get started on are Beths First Holy Communion and now I am clear to do those I am happy!
Its quite weird this weekend, as Tom is working. Just about all our married life I have been the weekend worker but now his new job has him working one weekend in two, while I am for the first time every weekend off!

Earlier in the week I finally booked a villa for our holiday next year in Florida. We are going to stay in a villa in Sunset Ridge. The first one and preferred villa ended up being unavailable for the dates that we wanted, so this is our second choice. That said it looks beautiful and I have spoken to the owner who seems to be very helpful. I was a bit cheeky when I did the search and asked for a 5 bedroom villa with games room, pool, internet, pool heating, cleaning and tax included for less than £1000 (which works out to £100 per person for the two weeks) Well we had a few replies, but on talking to this villa owner it became obvious that he had reduced his prices to make sure he met our criteria!

We are so looking forward to it, shame we have to wait to October 2007!

I have no idea what is happening with Blogger but I am still having trouble uploading photographs !! So here we go again, here are 4 of my recent layouts that I entered into a competition on the pad. I got lots of nice comments, but was not a prize winner !!!
I did enjoy doing them and I must really try and get my mojo back, it seems to have left me and I just can't find it. I think a lot of it is to do with the shed loads of photos that I have to wade through !!

Some action shots....

While we were away the kids had a go on the climbing adventure playground. At the first camp there was one on site. The girls were not big enough for it, but the boys were, so again they got kitted up and swung through the trees. This activity is such a great idea, I am amazed that we don't have anything similar in England.
Carl completed the course this time, Ross was not able to do the final zip wire, he was exhausted! I am always amazed at just how well they do, its not something I would EVER have considered!

Trouble with Photographs.....

I have been trying to upload photos to my blog but its just not working ! Perhaps it is the site today that is at fault! How I am going to be able to show you all my holiday pics????

We're back !!

We have arrived back from a very pleasant break in a very sunny France. We had great company in the shape of Dina and Rick Dolan and their kids Ross and Ryanne.

The crossing from Poole to St Malo was one of the roughest we have ever had the misfortune to be on. The boat was pitching from side to side and the whole place stunk of sick!

We started off at the huge Des Ormes campsite in Dol de Bretagne. We got off to a bad start at the site, when a little girl was bought in with a very obviously broken arm, the staff suggested that she was taken to hospital by the parents who had no idea where to take her. The poor thing was screaming and I was very tearful, with hearing her distress and arriving after a long journey.
Thankfully the Canvas courier got involved with her and got things sorted.

The weather was a bit miserable for the first few days but the kids still enjoyed it, going on the pedaloes, swimming and climbing through the trees. Beth went to hoopi club and spent happy evenings playing in the park.

One thing struck me was the massive game of football going on on the all weather pitch. There must have been 50 kids on each side!! It looked chaotic but no one seemed to fall out and they all enjoyed themselves!!

On Holiday.

Well here we are in the middle of our holiday and we are having a great time, weather is good and the sites have been fine. I am now sitting in a bar by the pool accessing the internet!!

We have been all over and spent time in the sea and at the pool. The kids seems to be enjoying themselves and thats what counts.

This is a quick check in as the connection is dodgy!!
